Power To Stand Ministries MISSION STATEMENT
Power To Stand Ministries (PTS) is a website ministry that functions as an informational resource to any and all who have questions about the Christian faith. The intent of this site is to be a growing apologetic archive that will provide biblical answers for matters of Christian faith, Bible studies, sermon outlines, and commentary on crucial issues that face the church today.
It is our hope that many will find enrichment and encouragement from the articles on this site in teamwork with other sites with the same conviction. PTS exists to serve anyone who logs on, regardless of nationality or background. Our prayer is that both pastors and regular churchgoers will visit us.
PTS is affiliated with and is a ministry outreach of Gate Way Ministries India and Steven Mitchell, an American missionary currently ministering in Mumbai (Bombay), India. For more about Gate Way Ministries, and their outreaches in Philippines and India, click here.
PTS is also a team effort allied with Let Us Reason Ministries and Deception in the Church Ministries, which are both Hawaii-based (U.S.A.) apologetic web ministries. By logging on to Power To Stand, those interested will also be introduced to a variety of articles written by Mike Oppenheimer, Sandy Simpson, and others who have demonstrated exceptional discernment and have a reputation of being well-informed with a burden to inform others about the crucial issues facing the Church today. These men have devoted mass amounts of time and effort to compile a vast storehouse of information.PTS, in addition to providing original material, will also function as a sort of "gateway" to these sites so that the Indian believers can be exposed to the some of the best apologetic material and biblical studies available. Our Commitment to God:
PTS seeks to glorify God with this ministry. All glory, honor, and praise go to God Himself because He alone is worthy to receive it. We acknowledge that He has given us His Word (The Holy Bible) as the guideline for our faith and practice. It is our aim to serve Him and bring Him pleasure through obedient living and grateful praising.
"…You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, honor, and power; for you created all things and by Your will they exist and were created." (Rev. 4:11)
Our God is worthy to be praised for His greatness, grace, and mercy. We seek to minister before Him in a way that represents the changed lives He has given us. An unbelieving world is watching, and the church is in need of vital answers at this hour of human history.
PTS seeks to be truthful and accurate in order to lead others to a correct understanding of our great God and the provision He has made for us to be saved from sin. We want to be approved as good, studious workmen (2 Timothy 2:15) and fulfill any purpose (Phil. 2:10) He has ordained for PTS in service to Him. In short, we want to be good servants, workmen, and obedient children.
Our Commitment to His Church:
PTS and Gate Way Ministries India want to see the church grow ever closer to the standard God has set for her in His Word:
"And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying ("building up") of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."(Eph. 4:11-13)
PTS seeks to EDIFY the church today: We want to do our part in this "building up" process. As the church better understands the faith she is to hold fast to and stand in, then we will see a greater commitment to serving God and a greater strength as we unite around the truth of God's Word.
This edification is through:
Equipping - This facet involves many things. We want to provide facts and reasonable answers to questions that linger on our minds concerning Christianity and the Bible.
Encouraging - We want to bring joy to the church as we together embrace the precious truths God has revealed about Himself and our faith.
Educating - Unity around doctrine is looked down on by some today, and, in some cases, is all but abandoned for the sake of strange experiences and overly emotional sensations. We want the people of God to know what the Bible says about true Christian doctrine and practice.
Clarifying - In India and elsewhere of course, there seems to exist some great misunderstandings about certain teachings and issues that are either difficult or somewhat complicated (e.g. The Trinity, Nature of Christ, Person and Work of the Holy Spirit, end times issues, etc.). Hopefully, PTS will be a direct help to any who need clear explanations on some of these subjects.
Confronting - This facet of PTS is, unfortunately, very needful here in India. Much false teaching has entered the church (worldwide) and has left damaged faith and false and withered worship in its wake. PTS will identify and warn accordingly the people of God about certain false teachings and ministries that are potential spiritual hazards.
